Provided are an electrolytic composition for a solid oxide fuel cell, and a solid oxide fuel cell. The electrolytic composition for the solid oxide fuel cell has high conductivity in a broad temperature range, and is capable of giving excellent output properties to the solid oxide fuel cell. The electrolytic composition of the present invention, as a scandium oxide stabilization frequency zirconium oxide-based electrolytic composition, contains a compound represented by chemical formula of (ZrO_2)_(1-x-a)(Sc_2O_3)_x(M_2O_3)_a. In the chemical formula, x is 0.09 <= x <= 0.11 meanwhile a is 0 < a <= 0.025 and M is one or more elements among Sm and Nd. The conductivity of the compound is greater than or equal to 1.4 × 10^(-2) (S/cm) at 600°C; the output density is greater than or equal to 25.0 (mW/cm^2) at 600°C; and the compound does not show a phase transition from a cubic phase to a rhombohedral phase at a temperature range of 25 to 850°C. |
