It is provided in accordance with the invention in a lighting device for a motor vehicle, comprising a light-emitting area (14, 15 -see figures 2 and 3) which on its part is illuminated by a light source (12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22 - see figures 2 and 3), that the light-emitting area is adjacent to a control element 7, 8 for a device of the motor vehicle and an illumination parameter is dependent upon the position of the control element. This provides that a glare-free, comfortable and diffuse illumination in the interior space of a motor vehicle can be realised easily. The color of the illumination can convey additional information. |
