The purpose of the present invention is to prevent the quality of transmission of an optical signal transmitted through an optical fiber from deteriorating due to a change in the intensity of a control signal. The present invention outputs main signal light, generates a first optical signal by intensity-modulating an optical signal according to a control signal, generates a second optical signal by intensity-modulating an optical signal according to a difference between the control signal and a predetermined signal of constant intensity, outputs a multiple-wavelength optical signal by multiplexing the generated first optical signal and the generated second optical signal, and transmits a transmission signal by multiplexing the outputted main signal light and the outputted multiple-wavelength optical signal. |
