An inflatable penile prosthesis cylinder (102) configured for implantation in a corpus cavernosum of a patient and includes an inflatable portion (110) having an inflated state and a deflated state, a fluid reservoir (106) between a rear tip (108) and the inflatable portion, and a stiffener rod (140). The stiffener rod extends along a longitudinal axis (104) of the cylinder from the rear tip toward the inflatable portion.
