Provided are a method and device for allocating network address translation (NAT) resources. The allocation method comprises: obtaining the current resource allocation status of a public network; allocating NAT resources for the user corresponding to the current service according to the current resource allocation status on the basis of pre-set rules, the NAT resources comprising the public network address and/or port required by the current service. The technical solution of the present invention solves the technical problem in the prior art of improving NAT resource allocation schemes and provides a better NAT resource allocation scheme that is simple and highly effective.
