PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for synthesis which enables efficient synthesis of a target product.SOLUTION: A catalyst consists of catalyst particles formed by crushing a catalyst metal carrier in which a catalyst metal is carried in a support, and contains rhodium as the catalyst metal. An oxygenated product may be synthesized from a mixed gas 20 comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide. An apparatus for producing an oxygenated product includes: a reaction tube 1 packed with the catalyst for synthesis of oxygenated products; supply means 3 of supplying the mixed gas into the reaction tube 1; and discharge means 4 of discharging a product material from the reaction tube 1.
