PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant extract production method that effectively extracts an active ingredient lutein which is contained in sweet potato foliage and is noted for its good effect on eyes and a plant extract production method that can simultaneously extract anthocyanin which is good for eyes, together with lutein; to produce powder composition by utilizing said extract and extract residue; and to provide a beverage and food using the same.SOLUTION: Provided are: a plant extract production method obtained by immersing a sweet potato foliage and a hibiscus flower part in an aqueous solution of citric acid to elute the contained ingredient, and after the elution, removing the solid content; and a beverage and food using the same. |
