598,398. Transponders. FERRANTI, Ltd., TAYLOR, M. K., and WILLIAMS, F. C. Nov. 5, 1945, No. 29285. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (v)] In a transponder, a pulse of relatively high power is fed to the transmitting valve over a cathode follower, the normal potential of the cathode being maintained positive with respect to the grid. The cathode follower may be arranged to be normally in a cut-off condition to prevent operation by spurious low-amplitude pulses, and the oscillator cathode biassed positively to prevent undesired oscillation by resistors connected between the supply and the respective cathodes. |
