<p>A method for generating an audio signature, representing audio signal content, comprises: performing first filtering 204 of a received audio signal, providing a first filtered audio signal; performing second audio signal filtering 206, providing a second filtered audio signal; comparing 208 the first to the second filtered audio signal; and assigning 210 a value depending on the comparison, generating the audio signature representing the content. Also claimed is an apparatus (Figure 5) providing a lip sync indication, comprising: a first signature extraction unit, receiving first audio and first video signals, providing a first video and first audio signature signals; a second extraction unit receiving second audio and second video signals, providing second video and audio signature signals; and a signature analysis unit receiving the various first and second video and audio signature signals. The first and second video signature signals are correlated to provide a video delay; further, the first with the second audio signature signal are correlated to provide an audio delay. The signature analysis unit further compares the audio and video delays and provides a lip sync indication if audio delay is different from video delay.</p> |
