<p>Configuring a wireless device for access to a wireless home network can be a problematic task for many users. The configuration requires knowledge of access parameters, such as SSID and security parameters of the network, and an ability to correctly use these details during the configuration. The present invention provides a method and apparatus for automatically configuring wireless access between a wireless device 116,118 and an access point 110. A Wi-Fi set up service 102 in a core network 100 arranges the set up based on a given telephone number associated with the customer premises 108a-c in which the access point is located. The set up service further gives the owner of the home network the opportunity to grant or deny access to the access point 110 for the wireless device 116,118.</p> |
