The invention relates to a bipolar plate forming the first polar plate of a first base element of a fuel cell and the second polar plate of a second base element adjacent to the first base element of the same fuel cell, comprising two parallel plates, each plate having at least one channel for distributing fuel or oxidant, formed in the thickness of the polar plate, the bipolar plate further comprising a manifold for the supply of fuel and/or oxidant, this manifold communicating with the interior of the bipolar plate through openings. The bipolar plate is characterized in that it comprises a cut-out formed in one of the parallel plates, so as to allow a gas located in the manifold to enter the distribution channel via the openings and the cut-out. |
