An image processing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention may include a region extraction part which extracts regions corresponding to the size of a predetermined target object from an image; a mosaicking image generation part which generates a mosaicking image by combining extracted regions; and an object detection part which detects an object from the mosaicking image.
