PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of preventing a predetermined apparatus, such as a PC, including an application which has made an event notification request to a device connected over a network, from being kept in standby state when the power supplied to the device is interrupted or the device is turned off.SOLUTION: An event management service 20 performs packet communication by means of PING to devices (first to third devices 90a-90c) to which event requests are transmitted, to confirm whether the devices (first to third devices 90a-90c) are located on a network 2. As a result of the confirmation, when no response is made from the devices (first to third devices 90a-90c) and the devices are not located on the network 2, the event management service 20 determines power failure, and transmits information on the power failure to first to third applications 30a-30c. |
