PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining a slip state of a compaction roller of a soil compactor, caused by an oscillation motion of the compaction roller.SOLUTION: A method for determining a slip state of a compaction roller (10) of a soil compactor, caused by an oscillation motion (O) of the compaction roller (10) includes the steps of: a) determining magnitude (b) of acceleration associated with the oscillation motion (O) of the compaction roller (10); b) determining an acceleration frequency spectrum on the basis of the magnitude (b) of the acceleration; and c) determining the slip state of the compaction roller on the basis of the acceleration frequency spectrum.
