摘要 This invention provides an organic electroluminescent element comprising a substrate and an electrode and one or more organic layers provided on the substrate. The organic electroluminescent element is characterized in that the layer density of at least one of the organic layers is 1.10 to 1.25 g/cm3. The organic electroluminescent element exhibits good luminescence brightness, causes no significant voltage rise and dark spot in the constant-current driving, and has good temporal stability under high temperature and high humidity conditions. There are also provided a display device and a lighting device using the organic EL element.

An organic electroluminescent element having an anode, a cathode, and one or more organic layers between the anode and the cathode provided on a substrate, wherein the one or more organic layers contain a light emission layer, and the density of the light emission layer is from 1.10 to 1.25 g/cm3; and the light emission layer contains a dopant and a host compound having a band gap of from 2.5 to 3.8 eV, the host compound being represented by one selected from the group consisting of Formulas (1), (4) and (5): wherein R1 to R4 are each a substituent; n1 and n2 are each an integer of from 0 to 3; Al and A2 each are a group represented by Formula (2). wherein Z1and Z2 each form an aromatic heterocyclic ring or an aromatic hydrocarbon ring each of which may have a substituent; and Z3 is a di-valent linking group or a single bond; and L1 is a di-valent linking or a single bond, wherein R21 and R22 are each a substituent; n21 and n22 are each an integer of 0 to 3; A21 and A22 each are a group represented by Formula (2); and L is a di-valent linking group, wherein A31 and A32 each are a substituent; n31 and n 32 each are an integer of 0 to 3; Y is an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, an imino group, a sulfoxide group or a sulfonyl group; and R31 and R32 each are a group represented by Formula (2).
