The present invention relates to a power reduction device and a method thereof. The present invention provides a power reduction device and a method thereof, wherein the power reduction device comprises: an inner reset generating part for outputting an inner reset signal if the voltage of supplied power drops from a normal state to a lower critical voltage or lower; and a power control part for outputting a power-down signal after the elapse of a certain span of time if the inner reset signal is output from the inner reset generating part. According to the present invention, an electric current consumed in a chip can be reduced by operating a power-down mode inside the chip, when power is supplied below the standard for a long time. |
