1. A redox flow battery comprising:
a catholyte; an anolyte; and an ion exchange membrane disposed between the catholyte and the anolyte, wherein at least one of the catholyte and the anolyte is an organic electrolyte, wherein the ion exchange membrane comprises a porous substrate film having ion exchanging properties, said porous substrate film being filled with the polymerization product of a composition comprising: an ion conductive material; and a hydrophilic support.
