ENCAPSULATED HEARING DEVICE

The present invention relates to an encapulated hearing device (50), e.g. for long-term wear, in which an electronics module (10) is encapsulated into a thermoformed hull (30) by means of an appropriate adhesive (41). This thermoformed hull (30) acts as an improved barrier between the electronics module (10) and the environment of the inner ear, reducing the risk of moisture reaching electrical components.

1. Hearing device (50) comprising:
a single-piece thermoformed hull (30) with an open first end and a second end provided with at least one opening (31); an electronics module (10) comprising a microphone in communication with a sound inlet (11), a battery, and a loudspeaker in communication with a sound outlet (12);wherein the electronics module (10) is disposed in the hull (30) with the sound outlet (12) in communication with the opening (31), and wherein the entire electronics module (10) with the exception of at least part of the sound inlet (11) and at least part of the sound outlet (12) is encapsulated into the hull (30) by an adhesive (41).
