The invention relates to a device (VM) for compressing a fiber sliver (V) on a spinning machine, comprising a carrier (16), which has a receptacle for a pin (36), and comprising a rotatably supported suction drum (14), which has a closed and an open end face (34, 35), a bearing element (K) being arranged in the region of the closed end face (34), by means of which bearing element the suction drum (14) is rotatably supported on an end segment of the pin (36), wherein the pin (36) protrudes from the open end face (35) of the suction drum (14). In order that the suction drum (14) can be simply and quickly installed and removed during the entire service life of the compressing device (VM), the suction drum (14) is axially fixed to the pin (36) by means the bearing element (K), as viewed in the axial direction of the suction drum, such that the suction drum (14) and the pin (36) form a separate unit of the device (VM), and at least one fastener (45) is provided, by means of which the pin (36) is detachably fastened in the receptacle (19). |
