PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display control device that can display an appropriate operation screen according to the characteristics of a display device.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus determines whether or not a display device displaying an operation screen is characterized to be able to accept gesture operation. The image forming apparatus reads out, from a memory storing screen information on a first operation screen that can accept an instruction by gesture operation and screen information on a second operation screen that can accept an instruction by operation replaced with the gesture operation, as screen information on a single operation screen, (A) the screen information on the first operation screen when the display device can accept the gesture operation, and (B) the screen information on the second operation screen when the display device cannot accept the gesture operation, and switches the operation screen to be displayed.
