[Class 99 (i)] A readily releasable coupling for control rods of aircraft engines &c. comprises a plug 5 attached to one part 2 of the control and engaging with a close fit in a socket 4 on the other part 1 of the control, the plug and socket being locked in position by a transverse pin 6 which is held in its locking position by the engagement of the end of a spring-pressed sleeve 10 over a flange 6a on the pin. The spring 11 acts on a flange inside the sleeve, and is secured at its other end to an enlargement of the plug 5. The pin 6 is released by retracting the sleeve 10 from its locking position, and the sleeve'may be held in the retracted position by a bayonet slot engaging a pin 13. |
