<p>A controller for a voltage source converter VSC (1), said controller including; an AC vector control element (6) configured to generate an AC voltage demand signal (16) based on a measure of an AC voltage output from the VSC and a demand value, a module selection element (5) configured to determine a module instruction set based on said AC voltage demand signal, said module switch instructions set providing switching instructions (8) for a plurality of modules of the voltage source converter to form an output waveform, said AC vector control element (6) configured to generate said AC voltage demand signal in a rotating reference frame space formed by transformation, using a DQ transform, of said measure of the AC voltage and said demand value into symmetrical sequence rotating reference frame terms, wherein said AC vector control element (6) is configured to generate said AC voltage demand signal (16) comprising at least two AC voltage demand values comprising an AC voltage demand value at a first time and a AC voltage demand value at a future time, calculated from the same symmetrical sequence rotating reference frame terms, said AC voltage demand values determined in said rotating reference frame space, wherein said module selection element (5) is configured to determine a module instruction set for each of the prediction values in accordance with the associated time.</p> |
