The present invention provides a product retrieval device, method, and system with which products in dissimilar images imparting different impressions to people than that imparted by a specific product can be recommended to consumers, and purchase decisions of the consumers can be encouraged. A product retrieval device according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention is provided with: a physical-quantity acquisition unit (116) which acquires, from a product database (102), physical quantities of an image of a specific product; a first conversion unit (118) which converts the acquired physical quantities of the image of the specific product, into information indicating specific-product sensitivity blocks, i.e. blocks corresponding to the image of the specific product among a plurality of sensitivity-space blocks; a notable-block selection unit (120) which, on the basis of the information indicating the specific-product sensitivity blocks, selects, as notable blocks, blocks different to the specific-product sensitivity blocks; a second conversion unit (122) which converts, into information indicating the range of the physical quantities of the image, the information indicating the notable blocks; and a retrieval unit (124) which, on the basis of the information indicating the range of the physical quantities, retrieves, from the product database (102), images corresponding to the notable blocks. |
