An image formation apparatus (10) is provided with: a cleaning unit (71) for removing toner that has adhered to the surface of an image carrier (311); a polishing roller (72) capable of rotating while contacting the image carrier (311); a guide unit (73) for guiding the toner removed by the cleaning unit (71) under the outer peripheral surface of the polishing roller, said guide unit (73) being set apart from the outer peripheral surface of the polishing roller (72) by a gap of preset width; an opening (76) of preset size in the guide unit (73) formed in a position below the outer peripheral surface of the polishing roller (72); and a housing (75) for accommodating the cleaning unit (71) and the polishing roller (72), the housing having a wall surface (751) such that a drop path (752) over which the toner is allowed to drop from the end of the guide unit (73) is formed in the gap between the wall surface (751) and the end of the guide unit in the direction of rotation of the polishing roller (72). |
