Disclosed are a method and device for controlling the operation of a video conferencing terminal, the method comprising: a conference server receives a web access request sent by a participant via a smart device to log in to the video conferencing terminal, the web access request to log in to the video conferencing terminal comprising web access link address data for logging in to the video conferencing terminal; the conference server conducts security authentication on the web access request, and if the web access request passes security authentication, then the conference server sends the web access request to the corresponding video conferencing terminal; and the conference server receives the response message returned by the corresponding video conferencing terminal allowing web access of the smart device to the corresponding video conferencing terminal, and sends the response message to the smart device to enable the smart device to control the operation of the corresponding video conferencing terminal. The present invention facilitates control over the operation of the video conferencing terminal. |
