SOLUTION: A position detection device includes an imaging unit 51 that photographs a detection area for the detection of positions of indication by indicators 70 and 80, and an indicator detection unit 54 that detects the positions of the indication by the indicators 70 and 80 on the basis of operation image data photographed by the imaging unit 51 while indication operations by the indicators 70 and 80 are performed in the detection area, and background image data photographed by the imaging unit 51 while the indication operations by the indicators 70 and 80 are not performed. !
