The invention relates to a glow-plug adapter (2) for measuring pressure in a combustion chamber (1) of an internal combustion engine, comprising an adapter head (21), in which a pressure sensor (24) having a membrane (240) is supported, and an adapter sleeve (20), which is fastened to the adapter head (21), wherein the glow-plug adapter (2), which has a sealing shoulder (214), can be screwed into a glow-plug bore (11) in a combustion-chamber wall (10) in a pressure-tight manner and signal lines (23) from the pressure sensor (24) are led out of the glow-plug adapter (2) through the adapter sleeve (20), should be formed in such a way that higher measurement accuracy is achieved along with a longer service life of a pressure sensor arranged therein. This is achieved by means of a design of the glow-plug adapter (2) that is free of an adapter tip, wherein the adapter head (21) is tapered at the end (B) near the combustion chamber and a cavity (210) is formed in the adapter head (21) in such a way that the cavity (210) is bounded by the membrane (240) of the inserted pressure sensor (24) and a closed end wall (211) of the adapter head (21). |
