<p>The guard, primarily for indicating a safety zone on the workmans side of a barrier adjacent moving traffic, comprises a mounting bracket 6 for mounting on a barrier and which holds an arm 7 such that it projects transversely outwards from the barrier. The arm may comprise a flexible extrusion of a plastic material. An aperture or notch 11 may be provided at the end of the arm to receive rope, tape etc. The bracket may comprise a socket 8 within which the arm is de-mountably held by one or more clamp elements 9. The bracket may comprise a resilient clip structure, preferably of spring steel, with a pair of limbs 6b that can be flexed to place the bracket onto a barrier, and may include a clasp or similar resilient fastening to connect the opposed ends of limbs. Also claimed is a guard system for an elongate safety barrier.</p> |
