<p>A superb nonaqueous electrolyte solution that can simultaneously improve the capacity retention and resistance retention of a nonaqueous-electrolyte secondary battery is provided, as is a secondary battery using said nonaqueous electrolyte solution. This nonaqueous electrolyte solution, which contains an electrolyte and a nonaqueous solvent, is characterized by containing at least one compound that can be represented by formula (I).
