<p>The present invention relates to an orthodontic appliance, and more specifically, to a method for manufacturing an orthodontic appliance which straightens irregular teeth using a frame made of transparent reinforced plastic and a wire. To achieve the purpose as described above, the present invention provides the method for manufacturing the plastic orthodontic appliance, which comprises: (a) a step for providing a teeth-shaped mold; (b) a step for thermoforming a plastic frame in which a teeth-shaped cavity is formed by placing a first plastic sheet on the mold and heating the same; (c) a step for arranging the wire on the surface of the plastic frame; (d) a step for embedding the wire by placing a second plastic sheet on the plastic frame on which the wire is arranged and heating the same; and (e) a step for separating the plastic frame, in which the wire is embedded, from the mold. The method for manufacturing the plastic orthodontic appliance in accordance with the present invention can enhance an orthodontic force without making the entire thickness of the orthodontic appliance thinker by compensating for an insufficient orthodontic force of the transparent orthodontic appliance by a resilient force of the wire which attempts to return to the original shape.</p> |
