The present invention provides: a halohexahydrophthalic acid derivative that is a synthesis intermediate for an alicyclic or semialicyclic tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride, and that can be used as a raw material monomer for a polyimide which exhibits excellent characteristics inherent in conventional polyamides, such as heat resistance and chemical resistance, and which exhibits improved transparency and workability; and a method for producing a halohexahydrophthalic acid derivative. |
