The invention relates to a plasma chemical reactor (1) which operates at atmospheric pressure without supplying gas and without external heating or cooling of the chamber. Water vapor is injected into the electrodes (5) that produce the plasma. The water vapor cools the electrodes (5), and then at least partially converts into plasma. The plasma, rich in hydroxyl radicals, flows in a loop by means of ventilation means (13) and rapidly breaks down the carbon material into high-yield synthetic gas. Said breakdown is carried out at a controlled temperature of 300°C to 900°C, such as to promote the production of any one of hydrogen, methane, carbon dioxide, or carbon monoxide. |
