<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for emitting gas in an OLTC cylinder of a power transformer. The apparatus for emitting gas in an OLTC cylinder of a power transformer comprises: an OLTC cylinder of a power transformer in which a tap changer and insulation oil are disposed; a gas detection unit whose one side is connected to an upper cover of the OLTC cylinder via a gas suction pipe, whose the other side is connected to a gas emission pipe, and which detects an amount of gas collected from the OLTC cylinder via the gas suction pipe and emits the gas collected from the OLTC cylinder to the outside via the gas emission pipe based on control of a control unit if the detected amount of gas exceeds a pre-stored gas emission reference value; the control unit to store the gas emission reference value for emitting the gas produced in the OLTC cylinder to the outside, and controls a drive for emitting the gas produced in the OLTC cylinder to the outside via the gas emission pipe if the amount of gas detected by the gas detection unit exceeds the pre-stored gas emission reference value; a valve drive unit to open and close a valve based on a drive control signal inputted from the control unit; and the valve installed on the gas emission pipe to open and close based on control of the valve drive unit. Accordingly, the present invention prevents malfunction caused by the gas produced in the OLTC cylinder of the power transformer to stably operate the power transformer, facilitate maintenance and repair, and reduce management costs.</p> |
