<p>A device for a letter slot formed through a door or wall 2. The device 5 comprises a casing 1 having a front opening 3 and a rear opening 4 configured to connect to the door or wall 2 around the rear opening of the slot. The device further comprises at least one pair of rollers 5, 6 located within the casing, arranged in parallel and configured so that post passing through the casing 1 will contact with at least one roller 6. The device further comprises a roller motor 10 7 configured to drive at least one roller 5 in an inwards direction and a sensor 8 configured to sense activity at the front of the slot letter box and send a signal to activate the motor 7. At least one roller may be vertically displaceable to permit larger items to pass. The device is configured so as to deter miscreants from passing tools through the letter slot so as to attempt to gain entry to the property. In use, the letter slot device ensures that items of mail are pushed through the slot, preventing draughts and/or heat loss and also helps make the property more secure.</p> |
