<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device that decreases the burden of user's eyes and can display a three-dimensional image. <P>SOLUTION: An image display device includes: display means capable of performing two-dimensional display or three-dimensional display; determination means for determining whether a vehicle transits from a stop state to a running state; and control means for controlling the display means so as to be switched from the three-dimensional display to two-dimensional display when transition from the stop state to the running state has been determined. It is preferable that the determination means receives operation information of a signal device at a traffic intersection to determine the transition from the stop state to the running state based on information on waiting time during which the signal device changes from red light to green light.
