PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine capable of conducting optimal dewatering control according to a cloth quality of laundry.SOLUTION: A washing machine comprises: a rotary drum 4 formed into a cylindrical shape having a bottom; a water tub 3 in which the rotary drum 4 is arranged; water supply means 7a for supplying water in the water tub 3; water level detection means 10 for detecting a water level of washing water in the water tub 3; a motor 6 for rotationally driving the rotary drum 4; and control means 22 which has cloth amount detection means 22b for detecting an amount of laundry in the rotary drum 4 and controls the motor 6 and the like to execute at least one of a washing process, a rinsing process, and a dewatering process. The control means 22 includes cloth quality determining means 22a for determining a cloth quality of laundry by dividing a result of cloth amount detection of laundry before a water supplying operation is started by the water supply means 7a by a result of cloth amount detection for the laundry in a state where the laundry contains water. |
