<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively conduct defoaming treatment in a clarification process, and to control volatilization of metallic components in a clarification tank, in the production of a glass plate. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing a glass plate includes at least: a melting step of melting a glass raw material to make molten glass; a defoaming step of energizing and heating the clarification tank composed of metallic pipes in which the molten glass flows, thereby raising the temperature of molten glass to be defoamed; and a forming step of forming the defoamed molten glass into sheet-like glass for producing a glass plate. Energizing and heating of the clarification tank are conducted in a region extending in the longitudinal direction of the clarification tank. In the region to be energized and heated, the energization is conducted such that the calorific value per unit length in the circumferential direction of the clarification tank at the top of the clarification tank, where the inner wall surface comes into contact with the vapor phase in the clarification tank, becomes smaller than that of side part or bottom part of the clarification tank, where the inner wall surface comes into contact with molten glass in the clarification tank. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
