<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barrel which can store more rotational force than ever before.SOLUTION: A barrel 1 of a mechanical watch has a tooth 2a provided in the direction of a barrel arbor 4 from the barrel side end face on the upper end face 1a. This tooth 2a is engaged with a second wheel and pinion 6 in the engagement portion, and the rotational force which the spring located in the barrel 1 has stored is transmitted to the train wheel structure. By this structure, since the barrel 1 can be enlarged in the side wall direction, it is possible to store a spring longer than in the prior art and to increase the drive time of the mechanical watch by storing more rotational force. The tooth 2 for transmitting may be formed integrally with the barrel 1 or may be arranged by installing a disc member provided with teeth on the side.</p> |
