PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more surely detect oblique suction of a component without obstructing the degree of freedom in operation of a transferring head.SOLUTION: A component recognition device includes: an imaging unit 7A for imaging a component absorbed to a mounting head 16 just under from it; and a control device 30 for discriminating the existence or non-existence of an oblique suction state which is a state having the component inclined to the mounting head 16 in the vertical direction based on a reflection state of a component side surface in a component image imaged by this imaging unit 7A.
