In the present invention, Melia azedarach L. or Lobelia chinensis Lour. is conventionally used as a herb medicine and medicinal plants in oriental medicine, is a plant containing a variety of physiologically active material, and has not been previously reported to have an anti-tuberculous effect against tuberculous. In the present invention, it was verified that extracts of the Melia azedarach L. or Lobelia chinensis Lour. and fractions thereof have an anti-tuberculous effect and the materials can be used as a composition for treating, alleviating, and preventing tuberculous. The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition, a functional health food composition, a feed composition, an animal medicine composition, and a quasi-drug composition, which contain, as an active ingredient, extracts of the Melia azedarach L. or Lobelia chinensis Lour. and fractions thereof for treating, alleviating, and preventing tuberculous. The pharmaceutical composition, functional health food composition, feed composition, animal medicine composition, and quasi-drug composition according to the present invention has an anti-tuberculous effect against tuberculous, and thus can be used as an antibacterial composition for treating, alleviating, and preventing tuberculous. |
