<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving image encoding device which improves detection accuracy of a motion vector in the case where a hierarchical motion vector search is adopted.SOLUTION: A moving image encoding device 100 is configured to hierarchically detect a motion vector while utilizing a reduction image that is obtained by reducing an input image. The moving image encoding device 100 includes: a representative texture information extraction section 110 for extracting a region characteristically including a component that is lost by reducing the input image, and a position of the region from the input image and recording information including the component that is lost by the reduction, corresponding to the extracted region, in association with the position and the region; and a reduction motion vector detection section 130 for performing a motion vector search while utilizing the recorded information including the component that is lost by the reduction, when searching the extracted region in the case of the motion vector search utilizing the reduction image.</p> |
