PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide use of compounds comprising peptides for producing a medicament for preventing and/or treating &bgr;-amyloidoses.SOLUTION: Use of at least one compound comprising peptides of up to 20 amino acids in length comprising an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEFKHG(C), TLHEFRH(C), ILFRHG(C), TSVFRH(C), SQFRHY(C), LMFRHN(C), SPNQFRH(C), ELFKHHL(C), THTDFRH(C), DEHPFRH(C), QSEFKHW(C), ADHDFRH(C), YEFRHAQ(C) and TEFRHKA(C), where (C) represents the presence or absence of a cysteine residue at the C-terminus.
