Disclosed are a method and apparatus for protecting privacy-sensitive information by automatically identifying a scene, which relate to a communication terminal. The method comprises: using a front camera which has been activated by a terminal to acquire a scene image; judging whether the terminal is in a high-risk environment where a plurality of people are browsing screen display content of the terminal together by analysing a face in the scene image; and if the terminal is in the high-risk environment where the plurality of people are browsing the screen display content of the terminal together, adjusting screen display of the terminal so as to protect the privacy-sensitive information. The embodiments of the present invention achieve the purpose of protecting privacy-sensitive information from being seen by other people by automatically identifying a scene and adjusting screen display.
