FIELD: radio engineering, communication.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to parametric coding and decoding and particularly to parametric coding and decoding of multichannel signals using downmixing and upmixing parametric data. The technical result is achieved using a multichannel audio signal encoder which comprises a downmixing unit for generating a downmixing signal as a combination of at least signals of a first and a second channel, respectively, with first and second weight coefficients with different amplitudes for at least some frequency-time intervals. Furthermore, the circuit generates upmixing parametric data which describe the relationship between channel signals and also describe the weight coefficients. The circuit generates weight coefficient estimates of the encoder from the upmixing parametric data and comprises an upmixing unit which reconstructs the multichannel audio signal by upmixing the downmixing signal in response to the upmixing parametric data, an estimate of the first weight coefficient and an estimate of the second weight coefficient.EFFECT: improved reliability of coding out-of-phase signal components.14 cl, 4 dwg |
