PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide nanocrystal particles having enhanced light emitting properties, such as a high quantum yield and a lower value of a full width at half maximum (hereinafter, FWHM); and processes of preparing the nanocrystal particles with an increased yield.SOLUTION: A nanocrystal particle includes one or more semiconductor materials, boron, and optionally fluorine. The nanocrystal particle has an organic ligand bound to a surface thereof. The boron is present as being doped or as a metal boride. The fluorine is present as being doped or as a metal fluoride.
