A display device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a display panel which has a division pattern which comprises a lower division line arranged on a lower plate, an upper division line arranged on an upper plate, and a division pattern having a short connector, and displays an image; and a signal control part which has a panel recognizing part which generates panel data based on a division output signal outputted from the division pattern. As a result, the display device recognizes the display cell signal of the display panel, selects a gamma value according to the display cell signal, and gamma-corrects image information. Therefore, gamma characteristics of the display device can be improved.
