Provided is an exhaust gas treatment burner comprising: an outer tube (12) having a tip (12a) that is open; an inner tube (14) having a tip (14a) that is open, the tip section of said tip being inserted into the outer tube (12) from the rear end (12b) of the outer tube (12); and a rod-shaped electric heater (16) that is inserted into the inner tube (14) from the rear end (14b) of the inner tube (14). A combustion-supporting gas supply nozzle (18) and a fuel supply nozzle (20) are connected to a side surface of the inner tube (14) that protrudes from the rear end (12b) of the outer tube (12). An exhaust gas supply nozzle (22) is connected to a side surface on the rear end (12b) side of the outer tube (12). The tip (14a) of the inner tube (14) is arranged deep inside of the outer tube (12) so as to be spaced apart from the tip (12a) of the outer tube (12). The tip (16a) of the electric heater (16) is extended to near the tip (12a) of the outer tube (12) and arranged between the tip (12a) of the outer tube (12) and the tip (14a) of the inner tube (14).
