<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work-piece fixing method and a work-piece holding divice which fixes a work-piece having a wider area in the rear side than an area of the front side.SOLUTION: A work-piece fixing method in which a work-piece 15 is held by a chuck 14 fitted to a spindle unit 12 having a work-piece fitting hole 13 formed and is contacted by a supporting tool 26 of the spindle unit 12, includes: a step in which the work-piece 15 having a bar-shaped part 16 in the front side and a widening part 17 wider than the bar-shaped part 16 in the rear side is locked temporarily to the chuck 14 by inserting the bar-shaped part 16 through the work-piece fitting hole 13 from the rear side of the chuck 14; a step in which the chuck 14 is locked temporarily to the spindle unit 12 through a collet body 32 fixed to the spindle unit 12; a step in which the supporting tool 26 is fixed by positioning the supporting tool 26 along the bar-shaped part 16 of the work-piece 15 to contact the work-piece 15; and a step in which the chuck 14 is fixed firmly to the spindle unit 12 and the work-piece 15 is fixed firmly to the chuck 14.</p> |
