<p>A latch assembly 10 for a door of a vehicle comprising at least one latch 14 movable between at least one latched position for keeping the door in a closed position, and at least one unlatched position for releasing the door. At least one handle 12 movable between at least one neutral position and at least one release position is provided and a coupling device 16 configured to connect the latch 14 with the handle 12 so as to move the latch 14 from the latched position into the unlatched position by moving the handle 12. The coupling device 16 having at least one first inherently stable coupling element, which may be a rod 18 connected to the latch 14 and at least one second inherently stable coupling element, which may be a rod 20 connected to the handle 12. The coupling device 16 is configured to allow a translational movement of the latch 14 and the first coupling element 18 in relation to the handle 12 and the second coupling element 20.</p> |
