The invention relates to an absorbent that indicates the degree of saturation before, during and after sorption processes. The indication of the degree of saturation is effected by a change in position of the absorbent on or in a fluid that is contaminated with substances to be absorbed. According to the invention, the absorbent is designed to change position as the degree of absorption increase and said change of position is visible.
